THE TEN STEPS TO HAPPY MORNINGS AND A BEAUTIFUL LIFE

1: PRESS ‘SNOOZE’ ON YOUR ALARM AND GO BACK TO SLEEP AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE YOU GET UP PROPERLY.

2: AFTER YOU WAKE UP AND BEFORE YOU GET OUT OF BED YOU SHOULD LIE IN IT FOR 05-10 MINUTES. FEEL THE SHEETS AND THE MATTRESS BELOW YOU. THINK ABOUT YOUR BODY AND BE GLAD TO BE IN IT AGAIN.

3: LISTEN TO A PLAYLIST YOU HAVE MADE YOURSELF. THINK OF THE SONGS YOU LISTEN TO AS THE SOUNDTRACK FOR THE REST OF YOUR DAY.

4: TALK TO YOURSELF AS YOU GET READY FOR THE DAY AHEAD. THIS WILL RE-ACCLIMATE YOU TO THE IDEA OF VERBAL COMMUNICATION. SO WHEN YOU DO HAVE TO TALK YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RESPOND QUICKLY AND CLEARLY. 

5: BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY SO DON’T MAKE IT BORING. HAVE LEFTOVER LASAGNE WITH CHILLI SAUCE OR FRUIT SPREAD ON TOAST.

6: NO CAFFEINE BEFORE 10AM. LET YOUR BODY WAKE UP NATURALLY. USE CAFFEINE AS A BOOST, NOT A KICK START.

7: TRY NOT TO BE NEAR CHILDREN UNTIL THE AFTERNOON. CHILDREN HAVE NOT YET BEEN EDUCATED ON THE POTENTIAL GRIMNESS OF MORNINGS.

8: ON YOUR WAY TO WORK, APPOINTMENT, ETC., TRY TO HAVE ONE THOUGHT THAT GIVES YOU A BIG AND UNABASHED GRIN. SMILE HARD.

9: DO NOT GO ON A COMPUTER FOR MORE THAN 15 MINUTES. IF YOUR JOB INVOLVES USING COMPUTERS THEN TRY NOT TO VISIT ANY PERSONAL SITES (FACEBOOK, TUMBLR, NEOPETS, WHATEVER) UNTIL THE AFTERNOON. EVERYDAY REMIND YOURSELF OF THE WORLD THAT DOESN’T HAVE A SCREEN IN FRONT OF IT. LOVE WHAT YOU CAN TOUCH. FUCK E-CARDS.
